Commercial Breeders

A commercial dog breeder is an important person who breeds in quantity, for revenue only. Breeding is a trade for them - and a profitable one, at that. Commercial breeders are anxious with forcing out as many puppies, from as many bitches as likely. It doesn't subject that some of the services are clean - they are still a puppy mill.


Commercial breeders / Commercially bred puppies:
  • have no concern for the numbers of puppies they create, other than make certain that the number is a high one. They

  • have no concern who they trade to, other than that their verify clears.

  • does not health check or hereditarily screen their stock.

  • do not breed dogs that are right for the breed normal

  • do not present long-term security

  • breed bitches every heat cycle, with no concern for strength. The

  • keep their dogs in confined quarters

  • do not mingle puppies or parents

  • are hardly ever fed correct diets

  • do not obtain correct vet care, sponge control or inoculations.

  • many are dirty with coccidia, giardia, fleas or other parasites that thrive in cramped, dirty situation

  • puppies are regularly taken from their mothers much too young, ensuing in long term temperamental issues

It is ordinary practice for commercial breeders to register with fly-by-night registries such as APRI or Continental Kennel Club, because they are balanced from the American Kennel Club for one motive or another. Commercial dog breeders and puppy mills typically sell directly to Pet Stores and Brokers, but various do sell to the common public.

It is very odd for a commercial breeder or puppy mill to let you to see their facility. Most who sell straight to the public will present to bring the puppy to you, ship the puppy to you, or, at the most, let you see a few puppies within their house. You are reserved away from the real breeding capability where the dogs themselves are housed.

The commercial breeder or puppy mill, should be:
- If they are USDA licensed
- what genetic diseases the parents are tested for (ask for copies of results)
- where you can approach to see the parents
- how the puppies will be registered.
