World Animal Day 2010 - Take Care to help out!

Monday, 4th October, is World Animal Day! World Animal Day isn't a new addition to the calendar; it was started in 1931 at a meeting of ecologists in Florence as a way of highlighting the plight of rare species. Since then it has grown to cover all kinds of animal life and is widely celebrated in countries throughout the world. October 4 was chosen as it's the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. It is planned as a day of celebration for everyone in the world who cares about animals and is not limited to any one nationality, creed, religion, political belief or ideology.

The official World Animal Day website was launched on 4 October 2003 with the aim of encouraging everybody to use this special day to commemorate their love and respect for animals and rejoice our special relationship with the animal kingdom. The improved alertness of animal issues this initiative creates will lead the way to improved values of animal welfare throughout the globe – and what an attainment that will be!

It is a great honors for me to be the UK Ambassador for World Animal Day and Here in the UK, we are lucky enough to have three Celebrity Ambassadors who 'walk the talk' in support of the World Animal Day plan and would be pleased to make themselves offered to you for interviews.

According to Anneka Svenska – Wildlife Presenter and Conservationist
"World Animal Day is a wonderful chance for animal lovers all over the world to come together in solidarity over one extremely important cause: to save and protect the animals on our planet and the delicate environment they live in. Without animals in the world it would be a very sad place. We must learn to protect and nurture them to ensure the world will always be a place where they can roam free and never become extinct."

Bulldog Breeding - Best Tips - Areas

French bulld og puppiesAny Bulldog breeder can tell you about the attractive personality of the sturdy, compact English Bulldog. The term Bulldog typically refers to the English version though there are also French and American Bulldog breeds. The English Bulldog is obvious by its short, stocky frame, its waddle, its lined face and pug nose, and by its under-bite. English Bulldogs are also famous for physical and personality traits such as drooling, snoring (loudly), gassiness, attention-getting behavior, and sense of humor.

English and French Bulldogs are the result of a combination of Mastiff and Pug. American Bulldogs more closely look like Old English Bulldogs, which were taller and faster than the European versions of today.Bulldog Breeders should be able to educate potential buyers about Bulldog information plus care, grooming and discipline. Whether an American, French or English Bulldog breeder, he will have facts of all Bulldog breeds and their exact needs. Bulldogs are not for new pet owners. This breed is high protection and requires important attention, training and medical care.

European versions of the Bulldog often have respiratory problems due to their small bodies, flat faces and Pug noses. These versions also need help giving birth, usually by c-section, as puppies’ heads are too wide to be delivered of course. The American Bulldog has a life expectation of almost twice that of the European versions, but these larger dogs have their own set of behavioral, social and health issues. Bulldogs buyers should move toward Bulldog breeders with a list of questions. Good breeders will be able to provide wide Bulldog information. Buyers should also expect Bulldog breeders to discuss them to make sure they can sufficiently provide for Bulldog puppies.

The most important thing for buyers to know about Bulldog breeders is that good breeders never sell to pet stores. Any purebred dog breeder, like the Bulldog breeder, loves the breed and treats animals like family members, not products. Due to the high price that can be fetched for purebred puppies, some breeders run illegal bulldog puppy mills, which are operations in purebred dogs are bred continuously to produce multiple litters to sell at sale. Dogs in bulldog puppy mills are injured.

They are bred continuously without stare to their health, kept caged with no exercise or play, and get little human contact. Puppy auctions and bulldog puppy brokers are usually the methods by which pet stores obtain puppies. Not only is this a mean process, but also it offers no promise on the health or lineage of purebred puppies. On the opposite end, pet stores, different good breeders, don’t care whom they sell Bulldog puppies to. Breeders will make sure dogs go to suitable, loving homes. Pet stores sell to any buyer with proper funds.

French bulldog owners who find that their animals go mad when the postman pushes letters through the door could take guidance from one expert.

According to the pet specialist Pete Wedderburn said that animal lovers could begin by making sure that the dog is in a different room when the mail is delivered in order to help it become less thrilled.

French bulldog puppiesAnother option is to set up a teaching session where the dog is trained to sit or stay every time post is dropped through the letterbox and offering a treat to strengthen good behaviour.

Mr Wedderburn says that if these do not work, "a simpler idea altogether would be to install a box to collect the mail as it's dropped in by the postman".

The expert newly reminded dog owners that want to lighten up their pets by painting their nails that they can get specially-designed nail varnish which is not destructive to the animals.

Dogs - Bahrain

French bulldog - Bahrain, a country with a population just over a million, is situated in the Middle East near Saudi Arabia and Qatar. With one of the world’s fastest growing economies, Bahrain function as a financial hub of the Middle East and is home to many expatriate.

French bulldogThe greater part of the population is of Islamic background. According to Islamic religious rules, dogs are not to be kept in one's house, unless they are skilled for hunting or guarding live stock and "serve a purpose". What's more, if one touches a wet dog, one's hands become mixed and must be washed seven times, one of which should be with earth. Moving a dry dog is considered okay though.

The one breed that is given a different status in the Islamic world is the Saluki, who is even allowable to sleep in the same tent with their owners. Arabic nations have been breeding Salukis for thousands of years for both their beauty and hunting ability. The history of the breed goes back so far in time that it is view to be one of the earliest breeds to differ from wolves. While they are not the fastest breed, their stamina and endurance outperforms most other dogs', which explain why they are so popular and wide extend in Bahrain and the Middle East.

With a new wave of expatriates, a new mentality has also set foot in the country and the notion of keeping pet dogs is more and wider spread. Working breeds, like the German shepherd and Doberman are used to guard property, but other large breeds such as the Dogue de Bordeaux, Great Dane or Golden Retriever, are also rising in popularity.

The usual attitude of local people is slow to change and some of them may really be scared of dogs. So if you wait for local people - workmen or guests - to your house in Bahrain, make sure you divide your dogs, otherwise they may refuse to enter. Parks in Bahrain are not ideal for walking your dogs as they tend to be kept for children. Waterfronts are; though, free to use for dog lovers.
